INTERVIEW
RXYM Fashion:

WOAH KEN!! Are you stoked about this new clothing deal with RXYM FASHION or what!?!

James:

I'm so hyped I got onto the team!! I'm going to try and film and get as much footy as I can, it's going to be tight.

RXYM Fashion:

Who do you skate with and where?

James:

Well I skate Carlsbad Skate Park mostly every day with my buddies like Bryce, Blake, Christan, Theo, and Jonny. I also hit up street spots and Blackbox TF with Andrew.

RXYM Fashion:

The city of Carlsbad banned skateboarding down town back in the late 90's. Do you ever skate down town anyways?

James:

There are a couple spots downtown but I'd rather not skate them because I almost got a ticket once and I'm not down to pay for skating.

RXYM Fashion:

Skaters always have run ins with cops? What's your most memorable cop story?

James:

I was skating a big gap at Mira Costa college when all of a sudden a cop car rolls up to us. So my friends and I ran as fast as we could to our cars. Once we left, one of the cops spotted us and followed us for miles but nothing happened so I guess its cool.

RXYM Fashion:

So Carlsbad is pretty much home to the best skaters ever! Danny Way, Colin Mckay, Tony Hawk, and even Pierre Luc Gagnon lives here!! What is the deal and do you look up to any of those guys?

James:

Carlsbad is known for the famous "Carlsbad Gap" so I guess that's where most of my influence comes from. Big companies are planted out here also. I look up to all those skaters because they are mostly the ones who really started skating. Mad props to those guys, they get gnarly with that Mega Ramp.

RXYM Fashion:

Do you just focus on street skating or do you mess around on ramps as well?

James:

Street skating is my main focus but I still love to skate tranny. I'm just not as good as all the others. I'm learning though in a few months, then I should be shredding both street and tranny.

RXYM Fashion:

So your family owns pretty much the best restaurant ever!! How often do you eat there and tell us about it?

James:

I eat there not as much as people think. I like to bring girls there and pay for them so they get all impressed.. haha!! It's pretty sick. I'm going to have to say the Chicken and Beef plate is one of my favorites at Teri's Cafe.

RXYM Fashion:

What is the sickest skate video ever?

James:

Dang, this is a hard decision. There are so many sick videos out there. I'm going to have to say "Fallen- Ride The Sky" and "Lakai- Fully Flared".

RXYM Fashion:

What are you goals this year and are there skate comps for amateurs?

James:

My goal for this year is to get better at skating rails and learn a crap load of new tricks down sets and have a good part in a video. I also would like to enter a few comps. I'm not sure when or where, but I'm sure they would be fun.

RXYM Fashion:

Would you rather get the cover of "Thrasher Mag" or go on a date with Megan Fox?

James:

Damn Megan Fox is pretty sexy, but I would have to say getting on the cover of Thrasher. Just think of all the ladies I would be pullin' on the cover!

RXYM Fashion:

Any shout outs?? Take it away Ken.

James:

I would like to say what up to the whole crew I skate with... ummm Lola's Bean, Rice, & Cheese Burritos! My bro Stanley, the famous Teri Cafe, all the peeps at RXYM Fashion USA. Also thank my parents for supporting me and paying for my skating tickets and my girlfriend Brenda Baxter. Sorry if I left anyone out, can't think of anyone right now!
